In the UK, high-altitude rocket launches must be directed over sea which raises challenging and costly recovery operations, such as splashdowns or water recovery methods. The steerable parachute system aims to bypass these challenges and enable rapid reusability of rockets. The system is autonomously controlled and features Sunride’s first in-house made parachute.
